Inside the box are a dozen envelopes on the flap side of which is an image
of hands. Each envelope contains a booklet with texts and images, including
the same image of hands from the envelope and the image from which the
hands were cropped. Texts are family "secrets"--stories written
down or told in my family that reflect changing attitudes toward, for
example, black/white relations and child-rearing--and quotes from the
Bible.
